When it comes to most things, comfort is the name of the game (and that includes offices of all kinds); the more comfortable someone is while they work, the more likely they are to want to continue working there and also spend extra hours getting things accomplished, if necessary.
Besides optimizing a space with the right ergonomic pieces to optimize comfort and promote better health, how else can a space be made comfortable? By adding touches of home!
‘A twin agenda of comfort and playfulness, one assumes, would make the idea of going to work on Monday more attractive than it once was. Perhaps more importantly, it might make people happier and more productive throughout the work week.
Why is that so important? Because absenteeism costs a bundle. An American Gallup report on the state of the American workplace quantified that losses are in the vicinity of $USD450 million per year in the US and a still eye-watering $AUD50 million in Australia. These losses include both ‘disengaged’ workers staying home, and workers underperforming (i.e. going on Facebook) because they are unhappy; if employees become serially unhappy, they leave.’ (Prue Miller, architectureanddesign.com)
Regardless of the type of business you operate the one thing every employee wants to feel is that they are being heard, respected and made to feel welcome in the work environment, and how it is designed plays a big part of that. At Burovision, we can help your organization create an optimized space to make sure that everyone is comfortable.
